Preventative Medicine Packages

We do heartworm testing and prevention. Only can do one month of heartworm or flea prevention at a time…No problem, as long as you have a current medical record** established with us, we will sell one unit at time. We want to make preventative medicine affordable and easy for you and your pet. Senior Citizens with wiggly pets, arthritis or mobility issues, ask us about our “drive-by” applications. ***

Feral Cats

We offer testing for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus testing. We offer test/spay or neuter/rabies packages for feral cats. Ear tipping is no additional charge. Call the clinic for details about our feral cat policy.

Pound Dog Programs

Please call for details.

Dr Wilcox helped start and administer the mandatory spay neuter programs in Mahoning and Columbiana County. Those programs are still in existence and still very successful.

Trumbull County does not have an effective mandatory spay neuter program at this time like our neighboring counties.

I can’t think of one reason why not to have a mandatory spay neuter, because spay neuter is the answer, warehousing animals is not!

I urge you no matter where you live to write, call, email your county commissioners or administrator and ask them to be PRO ACTIVE and make mandatory spay neuter the law in your county. It just makes sense to help the pet overpopulation problem and reduce costs to taxpayers for pound upkeep, maintenance and damages done to personal property or people done by stray or biting stray dogs.

Good news, Animal Welfare League is building a state of the art facility that will serve as a humane society, adoption center and REPLACE the pound. That will mean the elimination of the TC pound completely!

Please go to http://www.animalwelfareohio.com/ To learn about the new shelter and DONATE! The sooner we get the funds the sooner we can build and CLOSE the Trumbull County Dog Pound FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

The best news is ALL animals that leave the new facility will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption. This is the best case scenario. The most successful and well run shelters and pound have this pre-adoption spay neuter policy in place. It will effectively help reduce the number of unwanted pets and reduce the pet overpopulation problem. In the long run this saves tax payers money and pets lives!

We thank the many good people who adopted and participated in our pound program. We have met many nice people, saw some really great dogs come through our clinic.

Save a dog…adopt from the pound or shelter!

Givers beware!
Make sure before you donate to an animal related rescue, retirement home, or shelter that they are legitimate.
Check out www.bbb.org or www.guidestar.org
Or even the secretary of states website to see if they are listed as non profit in your state before donating.

Sadly there are many people who are con artists who ask for money for animal related charities that are not non profit or are actually animal hoarders or abusers.

This takes away funds from the good guys who are truly trying to do a good job.

Please remember to always donate to your legitimate local shelters and recues.

Do not give to the national ones or ones on TV because the funds will never help local animals.
They buy expensive TV ads, pay executive salaries and go for propaganda.
Donating locally helps local animals and helps the local economy; they need your help today!

Rabies Policy

Trumbull county law states all dogs, cats and ferrets, three months and older shall be vaccinated for rabies on a regular and timely basis. In fact, rabies vaccination law exists in every county in Ohio.

Need just a Rabies vaccine?
NO problem we have a rabies vaccine and brief exam for $ 25.00 available for pets. Vaccine and surgery packages available to save your time and money!!! Call us for details.

**Federal and State Law require an existing Veterinary Client-Patient Relationship in order for us to provide your pet with prescription medications. Your understanding is appreciated.
